Rapid chess evenings and Friday rapid around Tel Aviv 9

Rapid is the tempo that fits an evening, and around Tel Aviv it comes in three shapes. In the city, ChessBar Israel plays five rounds of eight minutes plus two seconds on alternate Tuesdays at Masaryk Wine & Flowers on King George Street, with a Meet & Play night in between. In Petah Tikva, the FridayRapidPT series splits players into Gold, Silver and Bronze groups on most Fridays, on the street where the Petah Tikva Chess Club is registered.

Herzliya's club plays rapid-interval rounds on Thursdays at the Meteor community centre and adds a memorial rapid day in November. Maccabi Etude hosts the Dov Porat Memorial youth rapid championships in Ramat Gan, Rishon LeZion and Kiryat Ono put one-day rapid tournaments on their calendars, and the municipal club in Ramat Aviv lists a rapid day of its own. The Green Village academy in Ramat HaSharon ran a summer rapid championship as well.
